Dryness
Not simply a lack of oil, but often a sign that skin is struggling to retain water and maintain barrier integrity.
WHY ALCHEMY EXISTS
Alchemy 21/12 began with a group of women comparing notes. We were leading companies, shaping culture, influencing policy, raising families, and entering the most consequential years of our lives.
While our lives were asking more of us, our biology seemed determined to give us less.
We were exhausted. We wanted our skincare to do its damn job.

THE WOMEN BEHIND THE FORMULAS
It began with a group of women sitting together and comparing notes.
We worked in different industries and lived very different lives, but we had arrived at the same place. We were entering the most consequential years of our careers at the exact moment our skin stopped behaving like our own.
Some of the women who shaped these products have won Oscars. Some lead major corporations. Some hold extraordinary political and cultural influence. All of us understood what it meant to enter a room and be assessed before we had spoken a word.
We may not like that reality, but pretending it does not exist has never made it less true.
This was not vanity. Wanting to feel beautiful is not shallow. Wanting the woman in the mirror to reflect the strength, vitality, and confidence you feel inside is deeply human.
For many women, our forties are not the beginning of our disappearance. They are when we begin to part the sea.
We know who we are. We have earned authority. We have built reputations, instincts, careers, and personal brands. Our potential is no longer theoretical.
But while our lives were asking more of us, our biology seemed determined to give us less.
Hormonal changes altered our skin. Stress settled into our faces. Sleep became less forgiving. Hydration disappeared. Sensitivity appeared where resilience had once been. Products we had trusted for years suddenly stopped working.
We were not short on options. We had access to treatments, injectables, lasers, prescriptions, prestige skincare, and every fashionable intervention. Each could address one visible concern, but too often arrived with new baggage, more maintenance, or another problem our skin would have to recover from.
We were not short on options. We were exhausted. And we wanted our skincare to do its damn job.
I’m Jen Valenti, founder and formulator of Alchemy 21/12. Before this brand existed, I was a single mother raising two boys while climbing one of the most demanding corporate ladders imaginable. I led major organizations, traveled the world, and built a reputation strong enough that my name became a brand within my field. None of that came easily. It required years of sacrifice, relentless discipline, missed sleep, constant visibility, and the expectation that I would walk into every room composed, prepared, and at my best, no matter what it had taken to get there.
By the time perimenopause began rapidly changing the skin I had understood for decades, the toll of all of it was already showing. My skin became drier, more reactive, less resilient, and increasingly unfamiliar. The products I had relied on became too aggressive, too drying, or simply stopped working. I did not need another intervention to manage. I needed my skincare to do its job. So I began formulating.
And then I started talking to my friends. Women I admired, women whose lives from the outside looked very different from mine, but when the cameras and PowerPoints were turned off, looked all too familiar. The details varied, but the story was always the same: their skin had changed, the old answers were failing, and they were exhausted by solutions that created as much work as they solved. These women who had access to every product, treatment, and expert imaginable simply couldn't find a solution that hit the notes they needed full-time.
Alchemy 21/12 did not begin with one woman standing over a laboratory beaker. It began with a group of women sitting together, comparing notes, slinging back wine after yet another long day, not yet ready to resign to their on-going frustrations.
THE REALIZATION
The beauty industry taught us to sort skin into fixed types: dry, oily, combination, sensitive, aging. Then it built a separate solution for every visible symptom.
But skin is not a collection of unrelated concerns. Its barrier, hydration system, inflammatory response, microbiome, cellular communication, and repair processes are constantly influencing one another.
I did not believe our skin had suddenly become defective. I believed it was asking for a different kind of support.
01
Not simply a lack of oil, but often a sign that skin is struggling to retain water and maintain barrier integrity.
02
Not a separate identity, but sometimes a compensatory response from skin trying to protect itself.
03
Not weakness, but a signal that the systems responsible for defense and recovery have become overwhelmed.
04
Not one isolated problem, but the accumulated expression of declining hydration, resilience, repair, and communication.
I stopped asking how aggressively a formula could correct the skin. I started asking how intelligently it could help skin return to function.
WHAT WE BUILT DIFFERENTLY
Once I stopped seeing dryness, oiliness, sensitivity, and visible aging as isolated problems, the formulas had to change.
Alchemy 21/12 was built around the functions skin repeatedly needs to maintain equilibrium, recover from stress, and respond intelligently over time.
01
FOUNDATIONAL
Every formula must respect the structure responsible for keeping hydration in, irritants out, and skin responsive.
That means supporting the barrier before asking the skin to correct, renew, or regenerate. Performance should never depend on repeatedly disrupting the system it is meant to improve.
02
INFRASTRUCTURE
Hydration is not treated as a temporary surface effect. It supports elasticity, enzyme activity, recovery, comfort, and visible luminosity.
We build hydration in layers, combining water-binding molecules, natural moisturizing factors, and barrier support so skin can hold onto what it receives instead of simply feeling wet for an hour.
03
BIOLOGICAL INTENT
Peptides, PDRN, extracellular vesicles, ectoin, and other advanced biological materials are selected to support specific conversations within the skin, not to decorate an ingredient deck.
Every signal must have a reason to be there, an appropriate concentration, and a clear relationship to the rest of the formula. More actives do not automatically create a more intelligent product.
04
DESIGNED TOGETHER
Each product must perform beautifully on its own and work intelligently within the complete ritual, without duplicating stress or overwhelming the skin.
The formulas are designed to layer with purpose. Hydration, calming, strengthening, and signaling are distributed across the system so each step contributes something distinct while supporting the whole.
SUBTRACTIVE FORMULATION
THREE YEARS IN PRIVATE CIRCLES
I began formulating for myself, then for the women around me. They wore these formulas into boardrooms, onto sets, through campaign seasons, across international flights, during sleepless nights, hormonal shifts, high-stakes meetings, and ordinary mornings when they simply wanted to recognize themselves again.
Their experiences shaped every product. Their standards made the formulas better. Their honesty made it impossible to settle.
The products were worn through stress, travel, hormonal change, professional pressure, disrupted sleep, procedures, and the daily realities that controlled testing cannot fully reproduce.
Texture, absorption, layering, comfort, visible response, and long-term wear were examined repeatedly. A beautiful concept was never allowed to survive a disappointing result.
The products were not developed as isolated launches. Each one had to contribute something distinct, work intelligently with the others, and make the complete ritual stronger.
Alchemy 21/12 was not launched when the idea was ready. It was launched when the system was.

WHAT ALCHEMY STANDS FOR
It is about helping skin become stronger, calmer, more resilient, and more recognizably itself.
We do not believe women should be ashamed of aging. We also refuse to pretend that wanting to look vibrant, rested, and outwardly beautiful is somehow shallow. Women deserve sophisticated tools that respect both their biology and their ambition.
The objective is not erasure. It is restoration.
I created Alchemy 21/12 for the moment your skin stops responding to the old rules. Not to fight your skin, but to help it find its way back.
